Bayou City Dermatology is excited to add MultiFrax—a next-gen, dual-wavelength (1550 nm + 1927 nm) fractional, non-ablative laser—to our suite of skin rejuvenation technologies. This portable platform lets our dermatology team precisely treat textural concerns (like acne scars and fine lines) and pigment issues (like sun spots) with customizable settings and efficient visits.  

Why MultiFrax is different

MultiFrax delivers both 1550 nm and 1927 nm from a single tip, so we can switch depths or combine wavelengths without swapping handpieces—streamlining your session while keeping parameters tailored to your skin. The device’s fractional delivery treats tiny columns of skin (microthermal zones), speeding healing because surrounding skin remains intact.  

What MultiFrax treats at Bayou City Dermatology

• Texture & scars: acne scars, surgical scars, enlarged pores, fine lines/wrinkles (1550 nm drives collagen remodeling in deeper layers).  
• Tone & pigment: sun damage, age spots, uneven tone, and select cases of melasma (1927 nm focuses energy more superficially to lift discoloration).

What to expect

• Visit length & comfort: Most treatments take 15–45 minutes depending on area and goals. You’ll feel brief heat/snaps; post-procedure redness and swelling are common and typically short-lived. Expect light “sandpapery” texture or flaking for several days with 1927-focused sessions.  
• Downtime: “Social” downtime is usually modest because fractional delivery leaves surrounding skin intact. We’ll tailor intensity to your calendar.  
• Number of sessions: For pigment/sun damage, 1–3 sessions is common; for acne scars, wrinkles, and deeper texture change, 3–5 sessions spaced ~4–6 weeks apart is typical. Your exact plan is customized after an in-person evaluation.
